Who we need

Our university is actively seeking a proposal writer. The successful candidate will have three years’ experience in proposal writing, preferably in a post-secondary setting. Reporting to the Associate Director, New Program Development, and collaborating with the Regulatory Affairs team, the Proposal Writer is responsible for preparation of all written materials associated with new program proposal government submissions. The Proposal Writer will work with stakeholders at every level of the University to ensure that new program submissions are high quality, follow best practices, and meet strict deadlines, all of which leads to the successful launch of new programs.

What you will do

  • Support the New Program Development team with timely management and production of all Yorkville Education Company proposal requests.
  • Write and edit the various new program proposal sections and other documentation related to the success of our program submissions.
  • Work with the Program Development team and collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop strategies that ensure consistent, high-quality, proposals that meet the University standard.
  • Develop, update, and maintain data for proposal packages, references, etc., for use in future proposal responses.
  • Analyze and interpret market research reports for incorporation into proposals.

What you bring

  • Degree in English/Communications/Business/Marketing or other relevant programs.
  • 2-3 years of professional work experience managing and developing technical corporate proposals or grant writing.
  • Strong technical writing skills including copywriting, editing, grammar, style, spelling, punctuation, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Flexible and open to changing priorities, multi-tasking simultaneously, and meeting deliverables within compressed time frames.
  • Proactive and take initiative with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Well versed with Microsoft 365 (specifically Word, and Teams) and Adobe Acrobat for document preparation.
  • Experience in post-secondary education and development of program proposals is preferred.
